Tucked between the North Shore mountains, Lynn Valley is bordered by a variety of parks and forested areas. Lynn Canyon Park is home to spectacular second-growth rain forests and offers a range of hiking trails for all abilities.

Lynn Headwaters Regional Park, offers numerous attractions including: mountain biking, fishing at peaceful Rice Lake and secondary trails that link with the Baden Powell Trail which stretches along the entire North Shore.

Central Lynn Valley is located at the corner of Mountain Highway and Lynn Valley Road. The area is home to a Village Plaza with a variety of charming shops. There is also a new Public Library nearby.

The Harry Jerome Community Centre offers many activities for families including: Wave pool, Ice Arena, Fitness Centre, Tennis Courts and an outdoor Skate Park.

Area schools are Lynnmour and Lynn Valley Elementary as well as Argyle Secondary.
